Cookie Policy
- Effective:
- June 1, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how MySummitKeep LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the MySummitKeep website and platform (the “Service”). Read this with our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They enable functionality, improve user experience, and provide analytics. Similar technologies include web beacons, pixels, local storage, and session storage. References to “cookies” in this policy include all of these.
2. Where Cookies Are Used
We use cookies in two distinct contexts:
- Public marketing site (www.mysummitkeep.com): cookies span strictly necessary, functional, analytics, and (with consent) advertising categories.
- Signed-in application (app.mysummitkeep.com): only strictly necessary cookies and first-party functional storage. No analytics, session replay, or advertising cookies operate inside the signed-in application.
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary
Essential for the Service to function. These do not require consent.
- Session authentication tokens.
- CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) protection tokens.
- Load-balancing identifiers.
- Cookie consent preferences.
3.2 Functional Storage
After you sign in, we use first-party browser storage (cookies and localStorage) to remember user-interface preferences such as theme, layout, and recently viewed items. These are scoped to the Service and not shared with third parties. Because they are essential to the signed-in experience you have explicitly opted into by signing in, they are not separately togglable in the consent banner. Clear them by signing out and clearing site data.
- User interface preferences (theme, layout).
- Recently viewed items and navigation state.
3.3 Analytics (Public Marketing Site Only — Consent Required)
- Google Analytics (GA4). Page views, session duration, traffic sources, user flow. Loaded only after you accept the Analytics category in our consent banner. Opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity. Session replay, heatmaps, click tracking. Loaded only after you accept the Session Replay category. Clarity records mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling; passwords, payment information, and sensitive form fields are masked at the client.
- Feature-usage analytics. First-party tracking of which features are used inside the signed-in application, in aggregate, to guide product development. No personally identifiable analytics events.
3.4 Advertising (Public Marketing Site Only — Consent Required, Off by Default)
We use advertising cookies only to measure marketing effectiveness on third-party platforms. Off by default. Loaded only after you accept the Advertising category. Never used inside the signed-in application.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook). Measures visits and conversions driven by our Meta/Facebook and Instagram ads, supports audience building. Manage in Facebook Ad Preferences.
3.5 Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies may be set by third-party services such as embedded content or payment processors. We do not control these cookies; refer to the respective third party’s policy.
4. Children and Cookies
The signed-in application is operated as a COPPA-compliant Service. We do not deploy third-party analytics or advertising cookies inside the application. The public marketing site is directed to adult Scouting volunteer leaders and parents/guardians, not to children. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under thirteen (13) on the marketing site. If you believe your child has interacted with the marketing site, contact privacy@mysummitkeep.com and we will delete any associated personal information.
5. How to Manage Cookies
- Cookie Consent Banner. Select your preferences via our consent banner. You can change preferences at any time via the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer.
- Browser Settings. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings.
- Opt-Out Links. Use the opt-out mechanisms provided by the respective analytics or advertising provider (see Section 3.3 and 3.4 links).
Disabling certain cookies may limit features.
6. Global Privacy Control (GPC) and “Do Not Track”
We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a valid opt-out of sale/share request for U.S. consumers. Because we do not sell or share personal information, receiving a GPC signal does not change our processing in practice, but we will not override a GPC signal with any contrary cookie-banner choice for the Advertising category.
We do not currently respond to legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals. We will update this policy if our practices change.
7. In-App and Mobile Storage
Our signed-in application and mobile clients use only strictly necessary local storage and session tokens. We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics, or session-replay tools inside the signed-in application or mobile clients.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted with a revised effective date.
